Description
There are several “one-off” methods which you can use to build your own yacht. Some of them, based on vacuum bagging or infusion method, are rather sophisticated, others more simple are accessibility even for amateurs. To choose the right method ones need to take into account several factors. The major ones are: number of yachts, possessed skills and the most important factor: spare time. One of the easiest way to build "one-off" yacht based on the following steps:
- The hull frames are set up on the strongback ready for attaching mould stringers :(photo 1)
- Attaching the mould stringers : (photo 2)
- Fixing the foam snug against the mould stringers : (photo 3)
- Making the interior glassing : (photo 4)
- Assembling all bulkheads in place : (photo 5)
- Assembling the cockpit and deck : (photo 6)
- Turning the boat over, smoothing and shaping for glassing the outside: (photo 7)
- Fair and paint the hull outside while upside down : (photo 8)
